Private Lessons

We recommend the following lesson lengths for private lessons :

• • Beginner to Level 1: 30 minutes

  • Level 2 to Level 5: 45 minutes

  • Level 6 to Level 10: 60 minutes

• Lesson length also depends on the individual student and his/her musical goals.

• For piano, theory will be taught in private lessons from beginner to level 4. For students in level 5 and above, a separate theory lesson is recommended.

Registration Fee

There is a registration fee of $40 paid at the time of registration for each student per school year (September-June) that covers administrative costs, studio materials, prizes, etc. This registration fee is non-refundable and is used to secure the student’s place. If payment is paid in FULL for the entire music year, the registration fee will be waived.

Private Lesson Rates (all instruments and theory)

There are 38 lessons and 2 recitals each year for a total of 40 paid events. We charge monthly for lessons. The monthly price is unaffected by whether there are 3 or 5 lessons per month. It is based on a total number of lessons for the entire year. (Please refer to our Private Lesson Calendar.)

Here are our private lesson rates (one-on-one lessons) with one of our senior teachers:

• • 30-minute lessons: $130/month

  • 45-minute lessons: $195/month

  • 60-minute lessons: $260/month

  • 75-minute lessons: $325/month

Group Theory Rates

We offer group theory classes for all levels including Levels 9 and 10 Harmony and History. 

Here are our group theory rates (2 or more students):

• • 30-minute lessons: $70/month/student

  • 45-minute lessons: $98/month/student

  • 60-minute lessons: $100/month/student (minimum of 3 students) and for semi-private lessons (2 students)$130/month/student. 

Lump Sum Rates

We offer lump sum rates (for a discount in lesson fees) but FULL amount must be paid at the TIME OF REGISTRATION and is NON-REFUNDABLE. Registration fee of $40 will also be waived. 

• 30-minute lessons: $1200/year (save $140/year)

• 45-minute lessons: $1800/year (save $190/year)

• 60-minute lessons: $2400/year (save $240/year)

• 75-minute lessons: $3000/year (save $290/year)

Private lesson rates with a JUNIOR teacher (with less than 5 years of teaching experience)

We pride ourselves at our studio for training our senior students to become great teachers one day. All junior teachers have completed at least their level 9 piano and are currently working on their level 10 piano. They have co-taught extensively with other senior teachers in the past year.

Here are our junior teacher rates:

• • 30-minute lessons: $110/month

  • 45-minute lessons: $165/month

  • 60-minute lessons: $220/month
